My daughter pointed out, wisely, that travels can also include trips to the kitchen to try a new recipe, trips to visit family, trips to my neighborhood Starbucks, or a fun day trip with a friend. I recently added an "Italian Word a Day" thingie which shows up at the bottom of every page. You see the word and can click to hear it pronounced. I've been enjoying it and I think my accent is improving as time goes by.

Is this providential or what???
Went to my mailbox today and there was the latest issue of "Bon Appetit". Got it out of its wrapping and look at the front cover:
After a delightful hour or so browsing through the Paris section and looking up the restaurants/bistros/patisseries that had websites, I've begun to think maybe I shouldn't do any day trips, visit any museums or other sites, take any tours or cooking classes. I should just EAT!!!

Which is a very different message than "Where the pros *really* go to eat" ;)
I envision an emcee before a crowd of "pros":

Good one, Chris. Although they wouldn't have to ask ME three times to get a resounding "YES!!!" I'm almost always ready to eat. :)
How do they do it?!? Meaning bake that bread like they do? You can buy baguette after baguette in the dear ole USofA and it will never taste like France. Maybe it's the water. Maybe it's the pleasure of being there. Maybe it's the butter. Oh my oh mio my!
